Old Brubaker Farm

A man with a beard and a woman wearing a red hat smile together outdoors in a snowy landscape, with a barn and trees in the background. The scene captures a bright winter day.

Who We are

We produce high-quality, healthy food that is grown responsibly and made available directly to local consumers. Working with nature regeneratively, the quality of food the land produces for us increases continually.

"One who watches the wind will not sow and one who looks at the clouds will not harvest."
— Ecclesiastes 11:4

What We Do

We grow pasture-raised chickens, ducks, and turkeys, as well as woodland pigs. We have removed the fields from row cropping and are converting them to pasture. Soon we will have sheep and cattle again.

We are currently in transition, converting our row crop fields to deep pasture. We are seeding them with grasses native to our area. Our practices with ruminants will be rotational and mob grazing with mixed species. Having raised both sheep and cattle in the past, with too little grazing, we are excited about the future with them now and what they will do for the soil.

Currently, we raise pigs in the woodland and savannahs. Always outdoors. No living in filth. No stench. They love scrounging for walnuts and hickory nuts and playing with the branches.

We raise poultry in moveable pens that protect them from predators and keep them from overusing the ground. (There are lots of predators as we have a wooded creek running through our farm.) We have a few pens of laying hens and are expanding our meat bird operation. Nothing enriches the soil like poultry. Visit our Products page to see what we offer.

Never give up.
Never surrender.

Our Mission

By working with rather than against the natural process, we restore the land to its former fertility through what is known as regenerative agriculture. It is not just sustainable. We don't just prevent losses. We are working with and improving the land's natural ability to heal itself.

Restoring the land to its former fertility through regenerative agriculture while producing good food for our bodies is a win for all of us.

As with many families, we have been researching ways to improve our health. We have transitioned steadily to more natural, unprocessed foods.
